New Review for The Promise Five Hearts from TRS!

The Promise

Marly Mathews
Paranormal romance
Available from The Wild Rose Press
November 2006

Holly St. Christian was completely alone in this world. Her parents died when she was young and her aunt had died about a year ago. And she was about to spend Christmas alone, or so she thought. That all changed when she received a phone call from Nathaniel Richardson.
Nathaniel is a wealthy businessman, who was not looking for love and never expected it to find him. But when he finds a stranded woman on Christmas Eve, who thinks he invited her to his home for Christmas, he is stunned. He thinks Holly is annoying but so adorable. When a matchmaking ghost is at work, do they really have a choice, but to find love?

Marly Mathews has written an exceptional story. It was so sweet; it made me want to believe in love at first sight. Nathaniel and Holly are great characters. They are perfect contrasts to one another. I found myself hoping they would find happiness. Anyone looking for a sweet, touching story, this is it.

    Review:

Ms. Mathews gently guides her readers through a delightful experience filled with just the right amount of romance, intrigue, and action. I opened the door to a new genre and I'm glad I did. This tale is worth a look. The entertaining characters drew me in completely and I could not wait to see where the next chapter would take me. Evil was present. Yet, those battles were not the focus. If you are in the mood for romance without gratuitous sex or violence, then you are sure to appreciate Twilight’s Kiss. Enjoy the journey!

    Another Handsome Hero

The other day, I caught an airing of Sharpe's Gold on History Television and I was reminded of how much I liked the series back in the 90's. I've also looked it up and discovered that another Sharpe movie was made, Sharpe's Challenge and it it aired in late 2006. I'm hoping to catch it on a rerun. :)

Anyway, who can resist Sean Bean? He was great in the role of Sharpe, and equally stunning as Boromir in LOTR. He really can act!

    Interesting News Article

    Stay-at-home mother's work worth $138,095 a year
Wed May 2, 3:00 PM ET
NEW YORK (Reuters) - If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.

This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts-based compensation experts.

The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.

The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.

A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com.

Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.

Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

    A Handsome Hero

Since Sweet Revenge is a regency and Colin Firth is in my opinion, THE Mr. Darcy I thought I'd post this picture for your viewing pleasure. :)
