The Long Thin Veil and The Story Board

On Friday, The Wild Rose Press Authors were invited to spend a day at The Story Board Group. I had a lot of fun there, and I of course held a contest. :) I've drawn the winner for that contest and drum roll please, the winner is...Jackie Wisherd! Now, is everyone getting into the Halloween mood? I won't be dressing up this year but here's a picture I just found on the web of one of the costumes I wore when I was a kid..



I wore this costume to a Halloween Party...it went over really well, until the end of the night when the attendees decided to pop me...seriously! LOL I fit in well since my friends dressed up as a sandwich, a block of cheese and a pickle...I was dessert!

Does anyone else have any other funny Halloween costume stories to tell?

The Winners of my three contests are....

Okay, so on this past Friday between the hours of 8-10 pm I was over on the Coffe Time Romance Loop chatting with the great members there. I had so much fun! I was joined by several other Wild Rose Press authors...it was a blast!

I hosted three contests on Friday, one for my newly released short story, The Long Thin Veil, one for my full length book, Twilight's Kiss, and one for my upcoming Christmas Love Story The Promise.

I had two winners for this contest, since their names got stuck together when I drew them out of my magic bag! LOL I'm serious though, funny as it might seem. :)

I think three really is my lucky number, since today is October 3. :) Featured above is the cover for my Faery Rose, Miniature Rose All Hallow's Eve story, titled The Long Thin Veil. I'm so excited about this story. The cover is fabulous...special thanks to the talented RJ Morris! I especially love the added special touch of the Celtic Cross, it was just what I wanted! Woo Hoo! I also have to thank Amy Herald, my editor. :)

The release date should be very soon...I'll let you know when I know for certain. :) Can you feel my happy dance? LOL

The Ancient Muse

I love Loreena McKennitt's music. I can't wait for this new album called The Ancient Muse to come out in late November, just in time for Christmas. It's going to be great, I can feel it in my bones. :)

I know one thing though, with a name like The Ancient Muse, it will definitely inspire my own creative muse! Just looking at the cover makes me want to go and write. :)

Update!

Well, the event over at Sweeter Romantic Notions hit a bump in the road. It will be rescheduled for the first part of December. Yahoo is hoarding messages...and in my case, they seem to be losing my messages. So, for all of you that might have received my post about the two contests I was going to hold...you'll have to take a raincheck for the first part of December. And, hey, at least we'll have Christmas to talk about then...and I'll be able to talk about my short Christmas Love Story, THE PROMISE. Maybe I'll even be able to have an extra contest or two. We must find our silver lining in this....:)

I also have to send out a big thanks to Lisa Dawn for all of the hard work she puts into planning the events for The Wild Rose Press. A thanks also goes out to the people at The Sweeter Romantic Notions Yahoo Group, for inviting us back for the early part of December. :)

Wow...this blog entry will mark my 99th post on blogger. Tres cool.



I have fantastic news to report. My All Hallow's Eve/Samhain Story, THE LONG THIN VEIL has been accepted by The Wild Rose Press. I received the contract yesterday. :) It will be a miniature rose, published in The Faery Rose Line. I'm quite excited about this story...it's packed filled with magic and romance, stay tuned for more details. :)

And, on another note, I will be chatting at Sweeter Romantic Notions Yahoo Group tonight between the hours of 8 pm and 10 pm EST. The Wild Rose Press authors will be featured for the entire day. Carol Ann Earhardt and Paty Jager will also be joining me in the 8-10 pm EST time slot. So, if you're already a member of the group, and if not...follow the link below and join! I hope to see you there. I will be running a couple of contests. That alone should get you there...LOL

This new show featuring Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, and Pamela Reed certainly is one of those 'what ifs' programs. It's not a show that will put you in a happy mood...but it is an eye opener. So far, the writing and the acting has hooked me. Hopefully, this show will last longer than Skeet's last show, Miracles. There hasn't been any biblical references yet, but a town that is facing the kind of grim future that's in store for Jericho...they'll have to rely on some sort of faith to get them through the hard times.

The first episode of the seventh season of Gilmore Girls last night was fairly entertaining. Sookie got on my nerves as usual (I apologize to anyone that loves this character) and Luke had a really bad day! YAY! Loved the part where Kirk slammed Taylor's car through Luke's diner! By far that was the best part of the show. Then, we had some pretty sweet moments between Logan and Rory, and Lorelai has finally gotten a clue...she's ditched Luke...let's just hope this sticks and she doesn't go running back to him. :) I think I actually rejoiced at the end when she finally cemented the breakup with Luke by getting him off her ass...by telling him the truth...It was great!
