Haunted Blog....

Photobucket
Let's talk All Hallow's Eve or as most of you know it, Halloween. Today, I'm going to talk about spooky movies. I don't like the gory horror picks, but rather the tamer ones like The Uninvited from 1944.

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, 1947,

And finally, for a more comedic tone, Abbot and Costello's Hold that Ghost, 1941,

I can't forget some other favorites like High Spirits, The Others, Haunted Mansion, and so many more. What movies do you like to watch at Halloween to get you into that ghostly mood?
And for one last treat, the book trailer below is for my latest release at New Concepts Publishing, Enchanted Beauty! Enchanted Beauty was just named a top pick at PNR reviews for the month of October! Leave me a comment and you'll be entered into the drawing for a free download of Enchanted Beauty!Photobucket

I do not like scary movies so I would have to say watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown would be one signal that it is fall and Halloween is here.

Sixth Sense! The twist to the ending is unexpected.

I guess I'm going with some of the classics like The Bride of Frankenstein and Creature From the Black Lagoon. But I also like Bad Moon and John Carpenter's Vampire.

Great blog!

Blood and guts don't appeal to me, either. I like the classic horror movies and every year I watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

My little ones have been watching The Great Pumpkin for days now..lol...over and over! I also love the Classic Horror films and right now I'm very hooked on True Blood on HBO, based on Charlaine Harris's Southern vampire books! Delish! My kids also love Corpse Bride! Great blog, Marly! I loved watching the movies! Happy Halloween!

I like psychological scary movies. Blood and gore just turn my stomach. My 2 middle step daughters like the Freddy Krueger movies (1980's them we only 11 & 12 then) which I would not allow them to watch in my house. I introducted them to a disney film staring Bette Davis - The Watcher in the Woods -= scared the bejesus out of them. Those are the best movies - let your imagination run wild...

I love the original "House of Wax" and "The Haunting." The remakes of these movies were horrible.

I'm not a big scary movie lover. I go for the more romantic ghost type ones.
It has been a while since I saw The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, but yeah, I liked that one.

Hi Alisha!

I enjoyed The Corpse Bride as well. Spooky but in a fun way.
I haven't watched TrueBlood yet, I guess I'll have to check it out soon. Right now I'm hooked on Sanctuary and the Eleventh Hour!
Thanks for watching the movie clips. The great things about these ones are that they are kid friendly as well. :)

Hi Kimberley!
I agree, the blood and guts turn my stomach as well.
After I posted this blog I thought of a few others that I like to watch around Halloween.
Arsenic and Old Lace, a dark comedy starring Cary Grant and Priscilla Lane is another favorite, and of course Practical Magic, which I also completely forgot.
Thanks for coming to my blog!

Hi Jane!

I think that some movies should never be remade. It's always such a hit and miss when Hollywood tries to remake movies. Some work while other fail miserably.
Thanks for reading my Haunted Blog!
